In 2 Days, 5 Workshop Participants, a Photographer, an Editorial Assistant and I Put Out a Newspaper

I was invited to the STOP TRIK Festival to preside over an intensive hands-on workshop where we published a festival newspaper in 2 days so I didn’t get to see many films.  The festival organizers, Olga and Michal Bobrowski, asked me and the workshop participants to produce a 4 page newspaper in this process, the 5 wonderful student writers along with our photographer, Daniel Suljic, and our layout editor, Kaja Vidovic , created a 12 page newspaper.  None of this would have been possible without Kaja’s valuable assistance.

Rather than reading my words about the festival, I would like you to experience the festival through the participant’s eyes.  3 members of the workshop had never been to an animation festival before and I found their writing about the films and the festival guests very refreshing.

When reading the articles please remember that none of the participants speak English as a first language.  All of the articles are their writing.  I only helped with some grammar and minor suggestions.

It was a very intense 2 days of work, and in the end we are all very proud of what we accomplished.
