20th Century Fox has marked a date for MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS, its adaptation of Richard and Florence Atwater's kids' classic, reports Variety. The film will hit theaters on Aug. 12, 2011.

Jim Carrey will star as a busy businessman who inherits six penguins that turn his life upside down. Carla Gugino will play Carrey's wife. Mark Waters is helming. John Davis is the producer.
