Christopher Egan, the star of the short-lived sci-fi series KINGS, will star in ABC's POE pilot, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Egan will play Edgar Allan Poe as the first detective, who uses strange methods to solve mysteries in 1840s Boston. The cast also includes Kevin McNally, Tabrett Bethell and Leslie Odom Jr.

Warner Bros. TV and Dan Lin’s Lin Pictures are the studios. Chris Hollier (ALIAS) will pen the pilot. He is the exec produce alongside Lin, and Brad Kern. Alex Graves (TERRA NOVA, FRINGE) is the director.
