The recent hack on our AWN site should serve as a "heads-up" for all of us who may have been lazy about our own password security! Hacks can result in the exposing of your password information to the intruder!

...if you are blissfully using the same password for everyplace you go on the internet... Guess WHAT!! You are open to the one of the most overwhelming, inconvenient, & possibly expensive lessons of your life! You can do something as simple as keeping a record of your passwords OFF your computer somewhere. You'll want to be a careful judge of your own security situation at home or at work before you start leaving printed copies of all your passwords lying around. If you're on a PC, you can get Password Manager from Symantec which will do it all for you. I am hoping that they will soon have a similar product for the Mac as well.
Just please be careful. It's too easy to take our "computer lives" for granted. We don't know who's "out there" & some of them are amazingly creative when money or mischief are the payoff. Set aside some time in your busy schedule & be as creative with your password program as you are with your work. IT WILL HAVE BEEN WORTH IT!!
