Hello everyone,
I'm finishing up a no/low budget DV movie in the Cleveland, Ohio area. A couple of my actors have moved away and coordinating shooting (nights and/or weekends) is been almost impossible. I was pondering the idea of shooting some of the scenes as a cartoon.
Questions:
1. I have about 16 minutes of movie that could be a cartoon. Is that plausible financially and how long would that take?
2. Do you know of any animators that might interested in taking on something like this (I can scrounge up some $$$).
3. It can be a basic cartoon style nothing fancy at all.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hey Mongoose,
Firstly, I would say that the cheapest and probably quickest solution would be to animate the cartoon in Flash.
The time required to produce this animation would depend on how freely you want the cartoon to move and how many animators will be working on the project. I would imagine the project to take one animator a couple of months...again, depending on what it is that you would like them to do.
I would love to be a part of your project. I am based in the UK but would be happy to work with you via the net or post, as I have just graduated from Univesity and am looking no something to keep me occupied until the right job appears.
Good luck with your film
Amy
Are there any other suggestions? I'd like to keep my options open.
Thanks
I kind of agree with you, Amy. But it's hard to tell without knowing anything about the story and the characters and the background. But anyway, 16 minutes is a long time for animation, maybe Flash would be the cheapest solution, and it's certified to be accepted by most audiences...
