I'd also say be realistic Gabe, you're young still learning your software, your stuff is pretty raw yet. I say keep at and put the stuff up on your own personal site for a while, before you go trying to compete with the seasoned guys. Friends and family will always give you a pat on the head. Wait until you start getting some positive feedback from folks you've never heard from before. Then you might be ready. So make sure you put a contact button on your home page.

Newgrounds can be a pretty harsh place for reviews from critics that are probably beefy nerds that can't even draw stick figures. (bitterness!! :p) Just look at some of the best films on Newgrounds, and you'll still see many that seem to bash the crap out of them just to break into the good reviews to be different. Keep working, you'll get better and better. If none of that makes sense, I'm sleepy. :(

i would find some other places to post your work. have you submitted to hotwired? It would be helpful to see the work you are referencing.

Animation Express was a pretty good website that listed very funny flash cartoons, quicktime cartoons and shockwave/director cartoons.
I hate to see it go.

I have thought about submitting my stuff to Newgrounds plenty of times but the reviews on there scare me more than watching a "Happy Tree Friends" cartoons.
At least you know what to expect in the future if you decide to post another cartoon there.
On a positive side, you can point your friends to the link where you work is and give them something to smile about.
Also, at least you didnt have to pay a fee to post your cartoon.
Think of it as free publicity!

No offense to NGers, and I haven't seen your movie, but consider the source. A worthwile, constructive, professional critique of your work isn't easy to come by in a place like that. Know your audience.

I think i know why you got ripped, mainly is because in the author's comment your giving your own movie a good review and your braggin' how everyone in your school digs it etc.. newground viewers like to make their own decisions about what they watch not somebody telling them specially not the author...
thats what the viewers are for to critic your stuff...anyways do you have a link to your flick so i can see it? and don't get discouraged by critics after all there just somebody's opinions if you like your own stuff stick to your guns, me I'm my own worst critic..lol

Don't be discouraged. Keep creating. What scattered said makes sense too.
For what it's worth, I see an improvement in your work.....but as with any of us
"getting there" is never ending.
