Happy Birthday Walt Disney!!!

By Larry L. | Monday, December 5, 2005 at 6:13am

Hello.

Today is Walt Disney's birthday- the patron saint of Animation.

So where ever you are Walt - enjoy the day!

Wonder if he is still frozen? Ward Kimball would never give me a straight answer on that one...:D

Yeah, happy birthday...
Right. I wonder how he would react on the development of the Disney Company and the animation business in general.
Maybe we'll find out someday... Isn't he "frozen"??

Bambi is my all-time favorite from Walt Disney. There isn't one modicum of bullshit in that film. It's just awesome.

I just watched Dumbo from start to finish for the first time last night. Dumbo is the same: awesome, despite it's goof-ups. All these old Walt Disney movies are about great characters, great stories and really good music. I love how there are zero lame-ass musical numbers with tired R. Kelly beats and cliche lyrics. From Snow White to The Three Caballeros, I can't praise Disney and the animators and artists who made them enough.

It just so happens that today is also my unfrozen sister's birthday - so Happy Birthday to the two of them.

I don't think Walt will have a very happy birthday, because I heard he won't be getting cake and ice cream this year. :(

By the time of his death, Walt Disney had abandoned the animation department for his theme parks, so I doubt he'd care.

Hey Larry: Walt was never frozen. They waited to announce his death from fear of what the news would do to the company stock.

I've heard they froze only his head.

No, I think he's in forest lawn cemetery. (in L.A.) They didn't want the company affected by panic (at his death....) the frozen head belonged to the famous sports star....blanking on his name. Ernhardt?...(and Willy Mays?) but definitely not Walt. Don't know how that bit of gossip ever got started.

Don't sweat it; Larry knows better; he was just looking for a way to drop Ward Kimball's name in the conversation :D

It's Ted Williams who has a chilly cranium - Earnhardt wasn't cryo-preserved, and Willie Mays isn't dead yet.... ;)
