Everyone needs to check this out!

A friend pointed me to this site that introduces a new program that converts a 2D drawn image into a 3D one. Its hard to explain you'll just have to see it for yourself: http://www.hedonistica.com/archives/2006/02/teddy_freeform.php

Right now its used for designing stuffed animals. But me and my friends began to ponder how it could be utilized for a great hybrid 2D/3D cartoon.

What do you guys think?

thanks for posting!

Is it possible to change the name of this thread? Call it "Check it out...Teddy" or something.

One, it will be easier to find for people who want to find it again. And Two, Teddy's been around for a couple of years now. Its potential is, at the moment, limited, but who knows where they might go with it. It originally was a Java app (is it still?). Pretty cool tool for trying out 3D without needing years of modelling experience (and worrying too much about the nitty gritty).

Producing solidily ok animation since 2001.
