Pat Hacker, Visit Scooter's World.

Haven't seen the film yet, but you know with his appearance on the academy awards, he ask a valuable question that I've always wondered about. Why don't ducks where pants? I am not familiar with the other character, so anyone that can fill me in, I'd appreciate it.

Oh...A duck may wear pants...if it is a non-Disney duck.

In the early 80s through some arbitration Disney and Marvel agreed to put pants on Howard The Duck to avoid confusion.

I think you are pulling the leg of my "pants" graphite.

Daffy never got to wear pants either and he wasn't under contract with Disney.

Here's the real question: When Donald, who wears no pants, loses his shirt, he covers his crotch. Also, when he gets out of the shower, he wraps the towel around his waist. Hmmmmm...

Shots in the dark:

1) The reason the shirt adheres so well toward the bottom is because it's fastened to his trunk by means of a safety pin. Thus the removal of the shirt equals removal of the pin, and the hand goes to cover the area of freshly experienced pain.

2) I guess you never heard the old Bavarian saying about cartoon duck "members" and their porous, sponge-like quality...let's just say if Mickey had the same issues they'd call him Inflator Mouse...

ar ar ar....*cough* it's late, so it's dry... =P

She's Abby Malard/the ugly duckling.

I never understand why they insist on doing animated character bits at the Oscars. They always are a bit strange to me. Oh well.

Congrats to all the winners.

it was kinda neat the first time. but now...nii. I guess it is a way for animators to feel more a part of it since they only get 2 awards when we all know animators are just as good actors.

Yes, I worded that poorly, didn't I? But there was a legal hoohah from Disney to Marvel and Howard wound up wearing pants...plus other modifications.
I had the Howard magazine at one time where it was explained in an article...and even a story about some nut named "Sidney" who made clothes for animals.

Hey Ape, she certainly was ugly even for a duckling. What film, do you have a link? She looked green, was she meant to?

She's also from Chicken Little. She's Chicken Little's best friend.
