The cafe isn't just about arguments. It's a place to post introductions and questions. And usually it's a helpful place for all newbies and experienced professionals.
It is helpful if you open your CP and list your location and maybe list a link to some of your work. Most of us are open to sharing, and aren't too critical when it comes to new folks learning new skills, or sharpening old ones. Be aware some that frequent the board don't share and probably never will. So measure your acceptance of their comments based on that...this is the internet and there will always be posers. No one's opinion is ever discounted without reason.
We are usually a reasonable, well behaved group.

Are you referring to an event in particular, Pat?
If it is indeed the one I think it is, I know the "unverified" character personally.
No specific incident Kevan, just something everyone using the internet should practice. It's easy to come off as expert when you are anonymous and have the whole web as a resource for information. And a lot of the information on the net is dubious at best. But here at AWN most are very willing to share examples of their work, that's one of the great things about it. Having studied art as a youth, and experiencing group critiques, I find judging the work is more important than the person, although people are definitely important also.
