Hi, AWN!
I’ve been working on an unusual project the last year and a half. I’m co-writing and producing a pop album for my 9-year-old daughter. Unlike me, she’s a great little singer and emerging songwriter.

We have another song that I feel would be great for animation. Thematically, this track is like a modern day “Rainbow Connection.” It’s called “Believe” – and it’s an ode to the audacious optimism of youth:

The above link isn’t final mix, but it’s close. My hope is to get a children’s choir to sing the ending refrain.
Anyhow, of all the tracks we’ve recorded, this one is one of my favorites as I believe the message is as applicable to adults. And there is a quality to this song that I think would suit animation well.
So I’m sharing all this in the event there’s an animator out there who would like to create a video for this song.
This is completely indie, so I don’t have much money. Producing the album itself has been a financial black hole. But I’m fully aware how much work it is to animate, so I do have some budget. I suppose this opportunity is for someone who 1) is inspired by the song and just wants to do this, 2) wants an interesting project to supplement their portfolio, or 3) would like a really small freelance gig.
Conceptually, I don’t have an idea. Which is appealing to a lot of creatives who like working w/ a blank slate. That said, I’m very conceptual and love collaboration. (I’m a creative director for an ad agency during the day.)
One consideration, my daughter is a pretty good actress. If your idea involved mixed-media, I have the resources to have her lip sync / act out the song in front of a green-screen.
