Advice Needed: Choosing the Right Animation Software for a Beginner

Hi everyone,

I’m new to animation and eager to start creating my hill climb racing own projects, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the software options out there. I’m looking for something beginner-friendly but versatile enough to grow with me as I improve. My main interest is in 2D animation, but I’d love the ability to explore 3D in the future as well.

What software would you recommend for someone just starting out? Are there any tools that offer free versions or trial periods to test the waters? Also, any tips on how to get started and avoid common beginner mistakes would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Choosing the right animation software as a beginner can be challenging, but it all depends on your goals. If you want something simple and easy to learn, software like Toon Boom or OpenToonz could be great options. I recently came across www.streamlined.finance, and they had some useful insights on making smart software investments. It’s important to pick a tool that balances ease of use with powerful features, so you don’t feel limited as you improve. Free options like Blender are also worth considering if you're willing to invest time in learning. Ultimately, testing a few and seeing what feels right is the best approach!
