A true tail.
One evening as a child, I came across a mouse that had been bitten in the head by a cat. Nobody’s fault, just one of those things.
The lobotomized mouse ran in a circle trying to escape the cat, thinking it was making progress. The cat sat watching until it got bored, killed the mouse and ate it.
Whenever I see people who are incapable of adjusting to new realities, I think of that mouse.
