Need Help! export flash movie on pc for mac

Hi all,
I've worked real hard to get a flash animation that's going to be part of a dance performance this saturday. I need to be doing tech rehearsals tomorrow really but I'm having trouble with exports.
Basically I'm trying to figure out how to get a working export on the pc to the mac. I'm developing on the pc and want to use a mac osx laptop for the performance. I can export to swf files that work on the pc. Ideally, I'd use an external player on the mac but I can't seem to find an external player for the mac. The internal web plugin plays the swf file fine but that won't work for the performance. I've tried exporting to avi format as I've got the divx codec for windows media player on the mac working. The problem there is that any portions of the animation that are using movie components don't play right, they just sit there without playing. I've tried a bunch of different output formats for avi but have had no luck. I can't get .mov files to export either for some reason. Maybe because I don't have quicktime pro. I don't know.
Help would be greatly appreciated. I'm desperate.

Thanks,

-Mark

good advice

Also if your having trouble exporting to Quicktime try changing your player version from 6 to 5 (if your on MX or a later version) After banging my head against the walls I found this to be viable solution at times.:o

Why not just publish a MacIntosh projector file. Check under your publish settings options. You should be able to copy that file to a disk and play it on any Mac.

finished and thanks

Ok, the publishing to hqx(zipped mac projector file) option really saved my butt. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.

If you are curious, here's a link to the end result, such as it is.

I don't think there's a problem - quicktime plays .swf files! Also if you export a quicktime file from flash what you get is a flash movie within a quicktime file. This will play with movie clips looping away aswell, which is good, but you won't be able to use action-script. It gets more complex then --- if your file includes action script I'd recomend you download a screenreader - this will record a movie file out of whatever happens on screen. my first port of call for such softwhere is the open-source comunity: it's just the kind of little program it's not realy worth paying for. try www.sourceforge.net .

Hi Mark,

First of all, you are going to have to change all your "movie clips" to "graphic" symbols. This is the only way they will play when you export them. For animation, always use "graphic" symbols. Only use "movie clips" if you are doing web design work. You can change them by clicking on the symbol, then changing them in the Properties window.

As for an external player for the Mac, you mean like Quicktime? You should be able to find a free player by checking google, but Quicktime should work. It should play avi's. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
