Do you have a web site or somewhere where we can view your work?

Don't feel singled out I used ride LuauLizard, until he put up a site.

I also feel if you want to critque and criticize, put yourself out there...let us see your work.

I've actually posted in here on a pretty regular basis, within the Show and Tell forum. I'd say every month or so. Anything accessible online beyond that is not recent work. However, I can provide you with a quick link to check those out if it's important to you.

You can ride me as much as you please but it won't free up any of my time or rearrange my priorities. It's not important to me to have a site right now just like I don't have a "blog" or anything similar. Aside from my jobs and full-time school, I won't touch personal site creation until A) Student of Animation is complete and more importantly B) till I have anything worth seeing. I am not remotely near a professional or competitive class of work, so why flood the world with wasted electrons when plenty of superior talents are available for its perusal? There is no current interest in me, and I am not looking for work since I'm not fit for feature production and my own independent film keeps me from being involved with others. Plus I'm two years away from finishing my first degree. The second I have a page, though? You'll be the first to know.

More than likely what will happen is I will have a spoonful of information about me at SoA, and as my short film grows nearer to completion I'll provide samples of that online somewhere else. That will be a good starting platform to an evolving Internet-accessible portfolio.

And I will never stop critiquing. "Put up or shut up" is non-existent to me. There is no intended implication of any sort of superiority or a patronizing nature in my posts, I often cite sources or background information for the suggestions I posit, and I always either bounce questions back or keep it open-ended so that I might learn that what I thought I knew was in fact crap and that there are great reasons for the person's artistic or technical decision-making. At the moment my exposure and my knowledge exceed my ability, so I share them when I think it could be helpful until I get to a place where I can take my own advice and have it show in said abilities. It certainly helps me to keep all of this art information in my mind, and saturate my brain, and I've only been complained about once or twice. The rest of the time the people either thank me for the insight or join in a useful discussion of the outside perspective I that I and others have brought. If someone can read what I say as it was intended, and/or can take constructive criticism as an adult, there are no problems.

To me there's no connection between the availability of my work and a desire to analyze and discuss the subject matter. It's another form of learning. Without learning I do not get better, I don't produce, and there's no work to see. It's a process and a cycle.

Gotcha... Scattered. "Put up or shut up" is non-existent to me. " I know that's true for you, was just trying to push you into making a web presence. If and when you do, I want to be the first to know. I'll get off your back, it was just a friendly chiding. Thanks for the detailed explaination as to why you are dragging your feet. But down the road I may hit you again, be prepared.

You have the material to make a really good web site, I look forward to seeing one in the future.

Yeah, that Lizard cat was such a slacker! :P

Aloha,
the Ape

...we must all face a choice, between what is right... and what is easy."

Ape I've wondered about a couple of things. Don't think I have to any longer. Actually Apes and Lizards have a lot in common. Still like that sword fighting piece...it's primo.

Ape you can do a lot, but that one picture was really fluid and said so much in such a little space. If I had a lot of money I'd buy your original and hang it in my living room.

I didn't mean to come off defensively; don't confuse that with me simply answering your question. If you'll remember I'm very stubborn and even more opinionated. Dragging your feet is more of a procrastinative measure though; procrastination would mean it's something I'd like to get done. I truly am occupied and am not one for making excuses, I just honestly am also not interested in a site for myself -- I don't see a place for it right now.

Believe me, when I decide the time is right, I won't need any pushing, and it'll be the best d--n Vincent Florio animation site it can be. It's far too easy to do good work on something you care a lot about. But I appreciate that you care and welcome the chiding.

I got all excited when I heard about this "LuauLizard" character. I wanted to know who he or she was, and if they too ran their mouth off espousing things, and what the site was that they wound up getting pushed into making. So I go into the profile.... THAT'S the address? He's a she? She's a he-she? lol Very Vader-is-the-father of you, Pat. Also means I'm one space less than I thought I was in post count if you add up those two accounts. (No, I don't care about post count either, but I am fascinated by numbers)...

The Lizard or Ape is no one's offspring but his own. His stuff is great. It did take some chiding to get a site up there so other's could view his stuff. That's just what I am trying to get you to do Scattered...you don't have to put everything out there, just enough to get folks interested.

Something to think about huh...Scattered.

Pat Hacker, Visit Scooter's World.

I meant Vader-is-the-father in terms of revelatory drama.

I'll try and reorganize my time, streamline a bit. Haven't done that in a while. Even if I eek out just a bit at a time, it will eventually get there. But it's going to be a while still.

Just put your face and a few basics out there...you can always add to it gradually, but if you don't do it soon, you never will. Think about who you are and what you want to say, and pick a few of your best pieces to bring that acrossed. You aren't applying for a job or a place in college, you afixing yourself in the the web world. And if you don't do if now when will you? It's your place in the realm of the cyber world. Are you going to step up or no... I'll back off now, but think about it.

I'm not a twelfth of never guy. I hold myself accountable. If it's having a place in the web world, affixing myself as you say -- my name will be attached to Student of Animation, and that has been a long time coming, enough so to make a nice impact. I mentioned before the springboards that exist for me. It's certainly a start and it's not terribly difficult to build and gradually evolve when a foundation exists. The Internet will still be there next month, or this weekend, or whenever it comes to pass.
