Where to start?

I'm working on making a 2D animation set to some music, but I'm not sure where to start with it. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to set out and start making an animation?

First, make a script. Draw up

First, make a script. Draw up a storyboard. Do a animatic. Build up the clips based on the animatic to a finished state.
