Since 1976, CINANIMA has been promoting Animation as cinema, while supporting its creators. CINANIMA has won international recognition independently of Portugal’s main cultural centers of Lisbon or Porto.
CINANIMA provides one of the few opportunities to show the public the result of the work and effort of the independent filmmakers undertaking the creation of animated films. Throughout the last 42 years, CINANIMA has contributed to creating new audiences for this art form, encouraging the public to recognize the value of animation cinema while promoting contact between professionals and the audience.
