A Creative Directors' journey through
the animation concept development process.
Featuring Jo Boag from SLR Productions
Working as creatives, we all have ideas we'd like to see get off the ground. Some of them outstanding, others genius. But developing a concept into a rich, workable product is a complex challenge. Character development, a series overview, artwork, scripts and even a pilot can play their part in a standout pitch. Our guest speaker, Jo Boag, has been taking projects from pitch to production since 2001, and will share some key insights and experiences she's accumulated along the way.
Jo has been with SLR Productions for 10 years, serving as Creative Director and supervising over 130 hours of content. She is Emmy Award winning and the 2014 B&T Women in Media Creative of the Year winner.
Jo will divulge her process of assembling a pitch bible and explain how projects change during the development process. Jo will also discuss how fluid the creative process needs to be when you are working with broadcasters and co-producers in an ever-changing and competitive market.
The Sydney Animation Production Group was formed to empower artists, producers and writers with the tools they need to turn their own concepts into viable, Sydney-based productions.
The event is organised by animation studio The Magnificent Itch.
The groups' supporters are animation school AIE, software resellers StormFX and Autodesk Australia.
