The Belo Horizonte International Short-Film Festival is the main short film event in the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais. Films produced in 2000 or 2001 are eligible and cannot exceed 30 minutes in length. The event will feature retrospectives, exhibits and workshops. There is no entry fee. An official jury, composed of specialists in the area, will be in charge of selecting the Best Film among both national and international productions. The Festival audience will choose the Best Brazilian Short Film. The event will grant a total of R$10,000 (US$5,076) as the prize for Best Film and Best Brazilian Short Film. Other prizes are being arranged through partnerships with the event sponsors. The Festival is organized by Clovis Salgado Foundation (FCS), an agency of the state government.
