ANIMA2013 will take place in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, from October 10th through 12th, 2013. This seventh edition of Argentina's most relevant animation festival will be dedicated to exploring the relationship between animation and the other arts.
This exhibit is to run during Women’s Month and will showcase women who are animators and artists. In a field that has been predominantly male until very recently, we now have many more women involved in film, commercials, movies and cartoons. It is appropriate to educate our female students as to job opportunities and to educate the male students as to equality in the art field of any kind.

I wanted to share an event with you taking place in March of 2013. The Citrus Cel Animation Film Festival is running a competition called JUICED! This is a 24hr animation competition where teams are given a few texture assets and a theme, and they are given the task of creating an animated short in a mere 24hrs.

Led by Hollywood’s United Productions of America (UPA) studio, animators began exploring new styles and designs diametrically opposed to the fairy-tale worlds created by Walt Disney. Esteemed animation historian Jerry Beck curates and hosts two programs of theatrical cartoons, presented in conjunction with California Design. Both programs offer visually-exciting—and rarely seen—cartoons in 35mm and include several Oscar-winning shorts.

We are excited to announce a travelling art exhibit featuring the work of Syd Mead. The premier showing is planned for January 26, 2012 at the Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale, California.
“Syd Mead | Progressions” is an exhibition celebrating more than 50 years of Syd Mead’s talent, vision, and imagination. It highlights his career preparation at Art Center School and his ongoing creative work, which continues to this day. This exhibition spans personal and commercial works and will include his paintings, sketches, and drawings.
SIGGRAPH 2012 will bring thousands of computer graphics and interactive technology professionals from six continents to Los Angeles, California for the industry's most respected technical and creative programs focusing on research, science, art, animation, music, gaming, interactivity, education, and the web from Sunday, 5 August through Thursday, 9 August 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
