I want to know what you think of my Animation plan. This is an independent project done by me only. I 'm going to design an exotic supercar on paper and then I want to learn Maya and and create it on the computer. The plan is learn to draw the car on paper to my exact standards and then learn Maya and create it on the computer. To learn about car design I am using Motorbooks "DESIGN CARS LIKE A PRO" and "DRAW NASCAR" books and other resources. For Maya I will learn I plan on using Maya 5 or 6 and the "Visual Quickstart Guide" for Maya. Another topic I want info on is getting credibility for my creation. How do I do that being an independent?? That question maybe too much to think about right now. I just thought I'd ask.
It's sounds like your are saying; I want to learn to paint so I'm going to start by making an exact copy of the Mona Lisa.
Start with the basics. You're not even rolling over on to your belly yet, let alone crawling and you want to run a marathon.
I would take time to learn how to model simple things first and work your way up to your "super car".
Sorry for all the analogies,

 I'm still a bit confused...Do you want to design a car, or make an animated movie with it? If it's the latter, you're gonna need a script too.
