Hello to everybody! This is my second post, though I could say is my first, since I just figure out how to use the forum as an useful tool for me. I wanted to know your opinion and ranking about a few schools of animation that I had selected for this, but first let me get you into context:
I'm writing to you from Chile, South America. I'm applying to a Government Postgraduate Scholarship (more precisely for a Masters degree) for studying animation in the US on 2011. The commitee that chooses the winners highly recommend to choose schools that appear on the Times Magazine ranking of best schools world wide and another chinese list of best schools. From this lists I have narrowed down 2 schools that actually have a Masters programs of animation (USC and UCLA). Besids those two schools I also watched the programs of the Academy of Art University of San Francisco and the SJSU.
My question is: if you had to rank this 4 schools, What would be your ranking?
What I'm looking for is a school that has a good basis on the animation basics, prefering a character animation program or close to that. The candidates for the scholarship have to be Masters programs and, in the case of USC and UCLA, I really havee more chances if this schools are in those ranking lists that I just mentioned. Besides that, because of the mater of family and friends being in the US and because of where the animation industry is, I also narrowed this choises because of being in the State of California.
Which programs do you know or think that would be better from this schools and what could you tell me about them? Because from here my biggest source of information is the internet and that can be very decieving I guess. Besides I'm pretty sure you can tell me something about this schools that could make me decide with more security.
I'm sorry for my english if the readin is not that fluid, but it has been a while since I practiced my english and you all know that spanish is the main language here, so again, sorry if the english is not that clear or smooth.
