20th Century Studios Teases ‘The First Omen’

A prequel to the classic horror film franchise, the psychological thriller follows a young American woman sent to Rome to serve the church, and of course, creepy darkness ensues; based on characters from David Seltzer’s ‘The Omen,’ the film hits theaters April 2024.

20th Century Studios shared a trailer and poster for its upcoming psychological thriller, The First Omen, a prequel to the classic horror film franchise. It opens in theaters nationwide on April 5, 2024.

The movie follows a young American woman sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church. She encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.

The First Omen stars Nell Tiger Free (Servant), Tawfeek Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Ralph Ineson (The Northman), and Bill Nighy (Living).

The film, based on characters created by David Seltzer (The Omen), is directed by Arkasha Stevenson, from a story by Ben Jacoby (Bleed) and a screenplay by Tim Smith & Stevenson and Keith Thomas (Firestarter). David S. Goyer (Hellraiser) and Keith Levine (The Night House) produce, with Smith, Whitney Brown (Rosaline), and Gracie Wheelan serving as executive producers.

VFX companies contributing to the film include Herne Hill Media and Island VFX.
