Activision has sued developer Double Fine Prods. over the Jack Black-voiced videogame BRUTAL LEGEND, reports VARIETY. The suit could prevent Electronic Arts from releasing it in October.
Activision argues that it never gave up its rights to the game in 2008 when Double Fine missed a critical deadline. The developer then took the project to EA, who gave them $7 million and nine additional months to finish. Activision also argues that Double Fine has not paid back the $15 million invested in the original production.
In the game, Black plays a heavy metal roadie that is whisked away to a mythical land where he must fight for the side of good.
