Adobe Systems has shipped the newest version of its award-winning motion graphics and visual effects software Adobe After Effects 5.5, which allows professionals to streamline their workflow and work with more media types than ever before. Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator Classic is included with the After Effects 5.5 production bundle and is standard to the production bundle upgrade, allowing users to turn 2D artwork into 3D elements without leaving the After Effects environment. New features such as Real media output, 3D camera data import from Alias|Wavefront Maya and 3ds Max and additional 16-bit per channel color file support including Maya IFF, RPF and QuickTime, allow users to work more efficiently and achieve professional quality results for film, video, multimedia and the Web. Adobe After Effects is available at a suggested retail price of US$649 for the standard version and US$1499 for the production bundle version in the U.S. and Canada. Full upgrades from After Effects 5.0 are US$99 for both the standard and production bundle versions. French, German and Japanese versions are also shipping.
