Anima 2024 Reveals Official Shorts Selections

The international competition includes Annecy Cristal winner ‘27’ by Flóra Anna Buda and Animafest Zagreb award-winner ‘A Kind of Testament’ by Stephen Vuillemin; event runs February 23 – March 3, 2024.

The Brussels International Animation Film Festival - Anima 2024, revealed its official selections for the 43rd edition, running February 23 – March 3, 2024. 172 short films were chosen from a pool of 1,700+ previously unreleased films.

The international competition selections include 82 titles, and the national competition selections include 24 new releases from Belgium. The remaining 66 out-of-competition films will be included in Anima 2024’s various thematic programs. A complete list of selected films is available here.

With selections from 39 countries including 21 European countries, the international competition represents the diversity of contemporary animation. Selected films previously honored at other international festivals include 27 by Flóra Anna Buda, Cristal winner for Best Short Film at the Annecy Festival, and A Kind of Testament by Stephen Vuillemin, Best First Film Award winner at Animafest Zagreb.
