Open-air screenings, ARTE Summer Tour and Moving Image Discovery Workshops among the many festival offerings at this year festival running June 9-15.
Following last month’s announcement of 2024 Annecy Festival official feature film selections in competition, the festival has released its program for the general public featuring a rich and diverse lineup of animation aimed to entertain and delight at all audiences.
Festivities kick off June 9 with Annecy s’anime screenings, previews, open-air screenings and other events and entertainment. Screenings will include Panda Bear in Africa, Blue Lock the Movie: Episode Nagi, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Garfield Movie, Indie Out 2, and others.
Open-Air Screenings:
Rediscover classic animation films as well as some of the festival’s award-winning feature films from previous years. The event promises at least 14 screenings on Le Pâquier. The open-air screenings are free, accessible to everyone with no need to reserve.
For young viewers the following films will be shown on a daylight screen:
- Sunday, June 9 at 7:30 pm: Athleticus (exclusive episodes from Season 4)
8 PM screening:
- Monday, June 10: Dounia: The Great White North
- Tuesday, June 11: Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie
- Wednesday, June12: Le Grand Voyage de Gouti
- Thursday, June 13: SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
- Friday, June 14: Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation
- Saturday, June 15: Once Upon a Time… 45 Years of Animation with Maestro
Big screening evenings continue on Le Pâquier at 10:15 PM:
- Sunday, June 9: Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness
- Monday, June 10: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
- Tuesday, June 11: How to Train Your Dragon
- Wednesday, June 12: Despicable Me 3
- Thursday, June 13: Wolfwalkers
- Friday, June 14: The Lion King
- Saturday, June 15: Chicken for Linda!
Additional screenings take place throughout the city from 10:15 PM:
- Robot Dreams at the Place Chorus in Cran-Gevrier
- Sirocco and the Kingdom of Air Streams in Seynod’s Town Hall square
- Leap! in the square in front of the Château d'Annecy
- The Inventor in the Vignières Pommaries park.
Other festival highlights include:
- ARTE Summer Tour: June 8-10, Place François de Menthon featuring a photo booth, video game terminal, quiz, VR workshop and deckchairs for chilling.
- Signing Sessions: Throughout the week in Bonlieu and at other partner sites.
