Aubry Mintz and Ellen Bresen present “Ridiculously Great Animated Sequences and Insanely Fabulous Storytelling Techniques” at the upcoming CTN animation eXpo on Sunday, November 18.
BURBANK, CA – As part of the 2012 featured panels and workshops, Aubry Mintz and Ellen Bresen are scheduled to present Ridiculously Great Animated Sequences and Insanely Fabulous Storytelling Techniques at the upcoming CTN animation eXpo (CTNX2012) on Sunday, November 18, at the CTN East Tent from 3:30pm - 4:15pm.
The CTN animation eXpo is the only event of its kind, bringing together the top professionals from both the traditional and digital worlds of animation. Hosted by the Creative Talent Network, this fourth-year event has captured both the industry and local community’s attention as a resource for education, employment, business opportunities and fun.

Aubry Mintz has worked as a feature animator (Industrial Light and Magic, Square USA) and as an award winning freelance animation director for television and internet working on projects for clients such as MTV, Smirnoff, McDonalds and General Mills. Passionate about teaching, animating and telling stories, Aubry is an Associate Professor at California State University Long Beach and continues to produce, direct and animate short films for festival release such as his current work in progress, Countin’ On Sheep. Currently Aubry is writing two books, one with co-author Karen Sullivan – Ideas for the Animated Short (Focal Press) and the other with co-author Ellen Besen – Whole Cloth Storytelling (MWP).
Ellen Besen has spent 38 years observing and working in such media as animation, television and the internet. She has directed award winning films which have been shown at such institutions as MoMA, taught at top animation schools such as Sheridan College and worked as a broadcast journalist for CBC Radio. She has spent many years analyzing the true nature of our relationship with media in general and animation in particular. Her most recent projects include the experimental indie short Stroke and three books on applied theory for animation storytelling: Animation Unleashed (2008 MWP), Ideas for the Animated Short (contributor, Focal Press) and Whole Cloth Storytelling (MWP) with co-author Aubry Mintz.
