With Hollywood hot on adapting projects from the word of God, Australian producer Tom Broadbridge will create a 12-episode series titled, THE ANIMATED ADVENTURE BIBLE, reports HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Funded by a group of private Malaysian Christian investors, the budget is set at AUS$15 million ($10.4 million).
The first six episodes will be based on the book of Genesis and the second six on the book of Exodus. Brian Capamagian, Nigel Broadbridge and Michael Hunnam have adapted the screenplay. Production has started on the project at the new Sydney-based Machine Prods., which is co-owned by animation director Frantz Kantor, Glenn Ford and Daniel Starling.
Broadbridge plans for such merchandise as a soundtrack, sing-along CDs, read-along CDs and DVDs, bath and pop-up books, activity books, figurines, Noah's ark with animals and clothing. He plans to source broadcast, DVD and video-distribution partners at MIPCOM Jr. in October.
