Kathryn Bigelow's untitled Bin Laden assassination film has received a release date from Columbia Pictures, reports ComingSoon.net. The thriller will hit theaters on Oct. 12, 2012. Written by Mark Boal (THE HURT LOCKER), the film follows the black ops SEAL team that is tasked with taking out Osama bin Laden. Joel Edgerton (ANIMAL KINGDOM) is set to star. Boal and Bigelow are producing alongside Annapurna Pictures' Megan Ellison. Greg Shapiro is the exec producer.
