BKN International A.G. announced during the Licensing International 2005 Trade Show in New York City that it has signed worldwide interactive licensing deals for two of its animated titles with The Game Factory, Inc (Game Factory) and Planeta DeAgostini Interactive (Planeta).
Under these global licensing agreements, Game Factory, an international publisher of childrens videogames, will produce and market video games based on the LEGEND OF THE DRAGON characters for digital entertainment platforms including Nintendo Portable DS and Sony PS2 game systems. Planeta, a communications group at the forefront of content production for the Spanish-speaking market, has also been granted worldwide rights for mobile phones and PC games. Production will be carried out by ON GAMES, the production and development division of Planeta DeAgostini Interactive.
Already airing on Nickelodeon Latin America, LEGEND OF THE DRAGON will begin airing on CBBC and BBC in the U.K. (summer and autumn 2005), Super RTL in Germany (January 2006) and RTVE in Spain (May 2006).
The global licensing deals for these two animated series clearly demonstrates BKNs ability to earn additional revenue from new media interactive rights from our existing portfolio of quality animated programs as we own the intellectual properties, said Nicola Andrews, vp of sales and marketing of BKN.
