Borg War Animated Film to Debut at Official Star Trek Convention

BORG WAR, new Star Trek-themed animated feature-length film, will make its theatrical debut at the Official STAR TREK Convention 2007, at the Las Vegas Hilton on Aug. 10, 2007, at 6:20 pm.

Filmmaker Geoffrey James reprogrammed computer games to generate raw footage (utilizing machinima), which he then edited to create BORG WAR. Online clips from BORG WAR have received more than a million Internet downloads and were nominated for two awards by the Academy for Machinima Arts and Sciences (AMAS).

The theatrical debut will feature the final edition of BORG WAR, with never-before-seen scenes and special effects. The theatrical trailer can be viewed at www.creationent.com/cal/stlv.htm.

Some 12,000 STAR TREK fans are expected to beam into The Las Vegas Hilton Aug. 9-12, for the event, which is billed as the world's largest. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Brent Spiner headline nearly 75 expected Star Trek celebrities. STAR TREK-themed parties, events, contests and auctions also fill the four-day meeting. On the evening of Aug. 11, a special Star Trek concert will be performed featuring members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic under the direction of associate conductor Richard McGee. Further information on the convention can be found at www.creationent.com/.
