Opening in second was TYLER PERRY'S THE FAMILY THAT PREYS (Lionsgate Films) with $17.38M.
Third place went to Robert DiNiro/Al Pacino cop drama RIGHTEOUS KILL (Overture Films), which opened with $16.29M.
Remake comedy THE WOMEN (PictureHouse, vfx by Custom Film Effects) opened in fourth with $10.12M.
TROPIC THUNDER (Paramount/DreamWorks, vfx by CIS Vancouver, CIS Hollywood and CIS London, Hammerhead Productions, Custom Film Effects and Proof) placed fifth with $4.18M and crossed the $100M mark in its fifth week in release with a cume of $102.97M.
In sixth place was Sony's THE HOUSE BUNNY with $4.15M in its fourth week in release. It has made $42.01M so far.
Seventh place went to THE DARK KNIGHT (Warner Bros., vfx by Double Negative, BUF, Gentle Giant Studios and New Deal Studio) with $4.13M and a nine-week gross of $517.79M.
Last week's winner BANGKOK DANGEROUS (Lionsgate Films) dropped 67 percent in its second week for eighth place and $2.59M, earning $12.72M in two weeks out.
Overture Films' TRAITOR (vfx by Amalgamated Pixels, Ghost ApS, Intelligent Creatures and LOOK! Effects) placed ninth with $2.13M and a three-week gross of $20.735M.
Tenth place went to DEATH RACE (Universal, vfx by Anibrain, Gentle Giant Studios, Intrigue, Invisible Pictures, Mr. X and Rodeo FX), which earned $2.06M and has earned $33.23M in four weeks.
In animated films, FLY ME TO THE MOON (Summit) earned $1.5M for a five-week cume of just more than $10M. Warner Bros.' STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS earned $881,447 for a five-week gross of $33.9M. Disney-Pixar's WALL-E did $540,926 and has a 12-week cume of $220.09M. KUNG FU PANDA (Paramount/DreamWorks) earned another $336,219 for a 15-week gross of $214.64M. Fox's SPACE CHIMPS did $193,704 for $29.4M in nine weeks.
