Captain America Claims the U.S. Box Office

Double Negative, 4DMax, Evil Eye Pictures, FB-FX, Framestore, Fuel VFX, Gradient Effects, Hydraulx, Lola Visual Effects, Luma Pictures, Matte World Digital, Peanut FX, The Senate Visual Effects, Stereo D, The Base Studio, The Third Floor and Whiskytree provided the visual effects.

Warner Bros.' smash hit HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS - PART 2 slipped to second conjuring up another $48.1 million. With vfx from Double Negative, Framestore, Moving Picture Company (MPC), Baseblack, Cinesite, Gener8 3D, Gradient Effects, Lola Visual Effects, Mova, Peanut FX, Prime Focus Film, Rising Sun Pictures, The Base Studio, Tippett Studio, Union Visual Effects, The Visual Effects Company and i.e. Effects, the Potter finale has collected $274.2 million to date.

Screen Gems' romcom FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS debuted in third with $18.5 million.

Paramount and DreamWorks' TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON descended on fourth place with $12 million. With vfx from Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Digital Domain, Atomic Fiction, Kerner Optical, Method Studios, Mova, Prana Studios and Prime Focus, the robot invasion flick has a cume of $325.8 million.

New Line's raunchy comedy HORRIBLE BOSSES added $11.7 million to its $82.4 million total.

Sony's ZOOKEEPER caged the sixth slot with $8.7 million. With vfx from Sony Pictures Imageworks (SPI), Amalgamated Dynamics, Creative Initiative Make-Up & FX Studio, Framework Studio, Pixel Liberation Front and Pixomondo, the Kevin James comedy has rounded up $59.2 million thus far.

Disney*Pixar's CARS 2 skidded into seventh with an additional $5.73 million. The animated sequel has a cume of $176.4 million.

Disney returned with another animated film in eighth with WINNIE THE POOH. The hunny loving bear's new film placed another $5.14 million into its pot, which now holds $17.6 million in total.

Sony's BAD TEACHER brought in another $2.6 million, lifting its five-week cume to $94.4 million.

Sony Pictures Classics' MIDNIGHT IN PARIS held on again to the tenth slot, bringing in another $1.9 million. The Woody Allen fantasy comedy has made $44.9 million to date.
