Cartoon Merchandise Deals Herald Wrap for Licensing Expo

Fans can watch for new products featuring ‘Cuphead,’ Cartoon Network shows, ‘PJ Masks,’ ‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,’ ‘Pablo,’ ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!,’ ‘Beylade Burst’ and more.

Studio MDHR’s hit game ‘Cuphead’ has been licensed to makers of sunglasses, apparel, art and electronics cases.

The 2018 Licensing Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas wrapped May 24, with a steady stream of animation-related licensing announcements.

  • Studio MDHR’s breakout hit game Cuphead is charging into retail with a robust slate of new product lines. King Features Syndicate, official licensor of Studio MDHR’s breakout hit game Cuphead , announced deals for novelty and traditional sunglasses for kids and adults from Sunstaches; Cuphead-inspired shadowbox art, desktop art and postcards from Artovision; NTD Apparel will offer in Canada activewear, sleepwear and swimwear; skins for consoles, controllers, charging stands and more from Marketing Instincts; Hypnotic Hats will offer socks and hosiery; and elope is debuting costumes, cold-weather accessories, socks and jewelry for children.
  • Cartoon Network Enterprises announced new products will be introduced from new and expanding licensing partners for Ben 10, We Bare Bears, Steven Universe and other Cartoon Network brands. New Ben 10 merchandise includes backpacks from FAB Starpoint. New licensing partners for We Bare Bears include: Grizzly Griptape for a collection of skateboard accessories and apparel; Toy Factory for a new collection of plush toys; Funko POP! vinyl figures; and Concept One Accessories for adult- and child-size headwear, cold-weather accessories, belts, wallets, luggage, backpacks and bags. PopSockets will offer a Steven Universe-themed line of the phone accessories. Accutime Watch Corp. will expand its selection of timepieces based on Adventure Time. Titan Merchandise will launch its third wave of Cartoon Network three-inch blind-boxed TITANS in August, featuring characters from The Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears, Dexter’s Laboratory and Adventure Time. And A&A Global Industries will offer vending and redemption novelty toys for Ben 10 and We Bare Bears.
  • The characters of ‘PJ Masks’ will adorn Pez Candy dispensers under a deal announced at the 2018 Licensing Expo.

    Entertainment One is adding seven best-in-class partners to its fast-growing roster of licensees for the hit preschool series PJ Masks: ASO for antibacterial shape and strip bandages; Colgate-Palmolive for oral care, including battery-operated and manual toothbrushes, and toothpaste; DecoPac for edible photo cake and cookie decorations; Give & Go for baked goods featuring house-assembly and cookie-decorating kits; good2grow for juice beverages in containers with character toppers; Pez Candy for character candy dispensers with candy; and Thermos for stainless steel vacuum insulated “FUNtainer” bottles and food jars.

  • BRC Toys will make ride-on toys based on Fred Rogers Productions’ ‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.’

    Fred Rogers Productions expands its roster of licensing partners for preschool series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. 9 Story Media Group’s 9 Story Brands is expanding the property’s reach across a range of consumer products categories. New partners on the brand include: Amloid Corp. for construction sets; Babiators for children’s sunglasses; Bioworld Merchandising for backpacks, lunch kits, and luggage; BRC Toys for ride-ons; Chouette Publishing for books in French for Belgium, Canada, France and Switzerland; Crayola for a Crayola Color Wonder “Mess Free” Coloring Pad; Esquire Footwear for sandals and sneakers; Kahootz Toys for restickable Colorforms activity sets; Sun-Staches for novelty sunglasses; and Townley for children’s bath products, lip balm, and hair accessories.

  • Paper Owl Films has appointed new licensing representatives for its hit series ‘Pablo.’

    Paper Owl Films, the Belfast-based company which owns and produces global kids’ TV sensation Pablo, has appointed Ingrid Selberg, managing director of Ingrid Selberg Consulting, and Tim Collins of The Brand Director to advise and manage the mounting interest from licensors including publishers and toy makers.

  • 4K Media announced new licensing partnerships for Yu-Gi-Oh! with Mondadori, caseable and Cotton Division. Mondadori published the Italian version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Handbook in Italy, Vatican State, the Republic of San Marino and Canton Ticino. Caseable is producing a unique line of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters and Yu-Gi-Oh! Super Deformed electronics covers and cases for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. And Cotton Division is developing Yu-Gi-Oh!-branded apparel, sleepwear, bags and phone covers for France, French DOM-TOM, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy and Portugal.
  • Sunrights, the New York-based entertainment rights management company, has signed a licensing agreement with Vancouver-based Epic Story Interactive to develop a Beyblade Burst mobile game for North America, South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Tentatively titled Beyblade Burst Rivals, the app is a fast-paced match-three puzzle battle game for iOS and Android based on the hit boy’s action property.
  • Quidd announced a partnership with Hasbro to launch officially-licensed Transformers, My Little Pony and Monopoly digital stickers and trading cards for iOS and Android users of the Quidd app.
