Deadline.com reports that the sequels to CLASH OF THE TITANS and JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH have run into some hurdles. For CLASH, Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures need to find a new director, because Louis Leterrier will not be returning as helmer, only exec producer. Star Sam Worthington will return and Greg Berlanti will pen the story as the studio looks for screenwriters. WB wants to get the project going before Worthington has to commit to AVATAR 2.
Meanwhile, New Line and Walden Media are having problems locking down star Brendan Fraser for another JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH. New Line wants the film ready for fall 2011, but won't be able to do so with original director Eric Brevig, who is working on YOGI BEAR. Fraser wants Brevig back. If New Line decides to go without Fraser, it will probably go with director Brad Peyton, who will center the story on Fraser's son's character, played by Josh Hutcherson.
