CRASH+SUES Signs Erik Therwanger

CRASH+SUES (C+S) owner Heidi Habben has announced the signing of Erik Therwanger as director of business development.

Press Release from CRASH+SUES:

MN: CRASH+SUES (C+S) owner Heidi Habben has announced the signing of Erik Therwanger as director of business development for her award-winning CGI/animation/creative editorial/color correction firm.

The signing of Erik Therwanger, which comes on the heels of award-winning executive producer Sven Shelgren joining C+S’s team, kicks off Habben’s strategic retooling of the managerial infra-structure of her company. The shift creates a fresh client-centric approach driven by Therwanger’s dedication to meeting - and anticipating - the needs of current clients, as he introduces the company’s lauded work to a broad range of agencies, brands and filmmakers looking for a world-class, multi-platform creative resource that can take their creative vision from concept to completion.

Over the years the veteran Minneapolis-based company’s multi-disciplined team of lead talent and seamless collaborative approach to creating fresh, innovative work has continued to attract a prestigious mix of cross-platform work - from high-profile commercials for Target - to the experimental concept video for New York’s prestigious Parsons The New School of Design.

As a former U.S. Marine, who has also been in the post world since 1996, “Erik leads the charge with his signature style of personalized client support has been an eye-opener,” say Habben. “CRASH+SUES has always put a lot of emphasis on providing strong client services, and we’ve measured our success with the positive feedback we received when we deliver a product and consistently are told by clients that our work exceeded their highest expectation. However, Erik’s uncanny sensitivity to the little details enables him to take great working relationships to new heights. He doesn’t see the devil in the details – the details are his passion, and he’s dedicated to ferreting out even the smallest nuances of each client’s experience, and finding ways to make it more rewarding.”

“I’m thrilled to be part of a company that has earned a reputation for crafting top-caliber creative content for regional and major market clients alike,” says Therwanger. “The collaborative team of talent’s commitment to creating fresh, innovative work comes through in every project – and C+S’ range of services and capabilities are virtually infinite.”

“My focus will be on expanding the breadth of CRASH+SUES’ client base and work,” adds Therwanger.  “And I believe that the most effective way to accomplish our goals is to help our clients exceed theirs.

“I’m looking forward to reaching out to local as well as national agencies and brands and introducing them not only to C+S work, but also the scope of its services,” adds Erik.  “I’m developing relationships with a broad range of clients that are working across an infinite landscape of platforms - and I intend to spoil them with unparalleled client support service that seamlessly guides them through even the most complex, multi-faceted projects - and leaves them looking forward to returning to CRASH+SUES with their next project.”

“I’m just getting up to speed, but the response has been overwhelming,” say Therwanger.  “The recent addition of Sven Shelgren to CRASH+SUES’ team is a great asset. His reputation as an A-list executive producer precedes him, and agencies appreciate the value of having a talent of his caliber working alongside them from concept through completion.”

“We’ve evolved CRASH+SUES’ full range design, CGI, animation, editorial, color correction, and burgeoning production services to provide the one-stop approach collective of talent, services, and seamless pipeline needed to create the kind of 360º cross-platform campaigns that today’s agencies need,” says Habben. “During this past year our company has really hit its stride. With the signing of Erik we now have the representation needed to take CRASH+SUES to the next level as we hone our client services and reach out to a broader mix of work and new markets.”

Erik studied Cinema/TV at the University of Southern California after completing his tour of duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. He began his career working as vault manager at Pacific Ocean Post in Santa Monica. He next moved to the Cinram/POP DVD Center where he worked on audio encoding and graphics.

In 2003, Erik joined SMV Complete Media and quickly moved up through the ranks to vice president of the company. By developing their leadership and sales team, and placing an emphasis on complete customer satisfaction, he helped the company to grow exponentially over the next seven and a half years as he focused on maximizing team member efficiency and work flow effectiveness.

The former-marine is also passionate about supporting our troops. His self-published book, "The Goal Formula: Completing the Big Picture of Your Life," is included in care packages, through the USO, for soldiers on active duty and distributed to them when they return to civilian life.  Marine and Air National Guard units throughout the country have invited him to speak to soldiers about his inspirational "Goal Formula."

Therwanger, his wife and their 5-year-old daughter relocated from California to Minneapolis this year.
