Discreet Names New Executive Vice President

Discreet, a division of Autodesk, Inc., has named Paul Lypaczewski as its executive vice president. Based in Discreet's Montreal headquarters, Lypaczewski will oversee all aspects of Discreet's worldwide business entities including research and development, sales, marketing, operations and finance and administration. With 20 years of experience in graphics software development and management, he was most recently the COO for CyberWorld, Inc., a privately held Web-based software development company. Prior to Cyberworld, he was the president and CEO of TrueSpectra, a developer of imaging solutions for electronic commerce on the Internet. Lypaczewski spent several years at Alias Research Inc. as the VP of product development, and at Alias|Wavefront in technical and management roles, including general manager of the Industrial Design Group. In 1991, Lypaczewski became the first Canadian to receive the NASA Space Act Award for Exceptional Merit for his contribution at CAE Electronic Limited, a producer of high-technology real-time systems.
