Inspired by ancient Indian mythology, the trilogy's first installment is a story of fantasy, adventure, and a secret society that safeguards divine and powerful weapons from the Gods; now streaming in Hindi and English.
The movie, set in modern-day India, tells of a secret society called the Brahmānsh, which, generation after generation, have protected many divine ‘Astras’ (weapons) created in ancient India and safeguarded from the eyes of the world. Now the most powerful and deadliest of these weapons - the Lord of all other Astras, named after the most powerful weapon of the Gods, the Brahmāstra - is now waking up and threatening to destroy the universe.
In the film, Shiva, a young man and the protagonist, is on the brink of epic love with a girl named Isha. But their world is turned upside down when Shiva learns that he has a mysterious connection to the Brahmāstra... and a great power within him that he doesn’t understand just yet - the power of Fire. The film follows Shiva’s adventures as he journeys into the world of Astras and, in turn, discovers his destiny as the divine hero of the universe.
The film stars Amitabh Bachchan; Ranbir Kapoor; Alia Bhatt; Mouni Roy; and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Written and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Mukerji.
Visual effects on the film were produced by DNEG (VFX Supervisors George Murphy, Jon Thum, Alexander Seaman, and Arudra Jaykar) and ReDefine (VFX Supervisor Viral Thakkar). The Production VFX Supervisor is Paul Norris.
