Disney+ Drops ‘Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire’ Trailer

The all-new action-packed animated sci-fi anthology presents 10 futuristic visions from Africa inspired by the continent’s diverse histories and cultures, created by a new generation of directors drawing on uniquely African perspectives on advanced technology, aliens, spirits and monsters; executive produced by Oscar-winning director Peter Ramsey, it debuts exclusively on the streamer July 5.

As a prelude to its big show reveal presentation tomorrow at Annecy 2023, Disney+ has shared a trailer from Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, the all-new action-packed animated sci-fi anthology that presents 10 futuristic visions from Africa inspired by the continent’s diverse histories and cultures, created by a new generation of directors drawing on uniquely African perspectives on advanced technology, aliens, spirits and monsters.

The series, executive produced by Oscar-winning director Peter Ramsey, alongside Tendayi Nyeke and Anthony Silverston from Triggerfish, debuts exclusively on the streamer July 5. Triggerfish produces for Disney EMEA.

Featuring stories from creators hailing from Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe, Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, according to Disney+, “promises to take viewers on an unforgettable ride into Africa’s future, presenting visions of the continent as never before seen.”

The 10 films are: Stardust (Ahmed Teilab, Egypt); Mkhuzi: The Spirit Racer (Simangaliso “Panda” Sibaya and Malcolm Wopé, South Africa); Hatima (Terence Maluleke and Isaac Mogajane, South Africa); Enkai (Ng’endo Mukii, Kenya); Moremi (Shofela Coker, Nigeria); Surf Sangoma (Nthato Mokgata and Catherine Green, South Africa); Mukudzei (Pious Nyenyewa and Tafadzwa Hove, Zimbabwe); First Totem Problems (Tshepo Moche, South Africa); Herderboy (Raymond Malinga, Uganda); and You Give Me Heart (Lesego Vorster, South Africa).
