A Sofia the First series premieres in early 2013.

Created for kids age 2-7 and their parents/caregivers, and starring the voices of Ariel Winter (ABC's Modern Family), Sara Ramirez (ABC's Grey's Anatomy), Wayne Brady (Let’s Make a Deal), and Tim Gunn (Project Runway), Sofia the First: Once Upon A Princess introduces Sofia, an average girl whose life suddenly transforms when her mother marries the king of Enchancia and she becomes a princess. Sofia soon discovers that looking like a princess isn't all that difficult, but displaying honesty, loyalty, courage, independence, compassion and grace is what makes one truly royal.
Ariel Winter performs in a music video of the song "Rise and Shine," debuting during the premiere telecast.
In keeping with the mother-daughter themes in the movie, Disney Channel stars Skai Jackson (Jessie) and Mia Talerico (Good Luck Charlie) and their moms will host a telecast Monday, November 19 (8:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The movie also becomes available that day on WATCH Disney Junior, Disney Junior On Demand and DisneyJunior.com.
Celebrity mom Alison Sweeney (The Biggest Loser) and her daughter will host a telecast Thursday, November 22 (7:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Junior.
The illustrated storybook Sofia the First, which introduces readers to the world of Sofia, was written by Catherine Hapka with illustrations by Grace Lee. It will be available from Disney Press, an imprint of Disney Publishing Worldwide, as a Book and eBook at retailers nationwide.
