Disney Resumes Talks to Acquire Fox Assets

Deal is reportedly back on the cable, with Comcast also expressing interest.

The Walt Disney Co. is reported to have resumed negotiations to acquire some of the assets of Fox.

Reports in Deadline.com and the Wall Street Journal have the talks back on, with NBCUniversal owner Comcast also a potential player for Fox, owned by Rupert Murdoch.

The deal with Disney would include Fox’s movie and TV studios, as well as international holdings in ventures including a stake in U.K. satellite company Sky. Not included would be Fox News, Fox Broadcasting Co. and Fox Sports Networks.

Comcast also has expressed interest in buying Fox’s movie and TV studios, some of its cable networks and some of its foreign stakes.

Murdoch and his family hold 39% of 21st Century Fox voting shares and will reportedly decide by the end of the year whether any sale will move forward.
