Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Headed for Network Broadcast Debut

Academy Award-winning ‘Frozen’ airs December 11 on ABC followed by the behind-the-scenes special, ‘The Making of Frozen: A Return to Arendelle.’

Disney’s Academy Award-winning Frozen, the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, will make its network broadcast premiere as part of the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday, December 11 (8:00-10:04 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.

In Frozen, fearless optimist Anna (Kristen Bell) teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer, Sven, in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad) in a race to find Anna’s sister, Elsa (Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Can Anna save her sister and bring sunshine back to their home? Or will Arendelle be frozen forever?

The Making of Frozen: A Return to Arendelle airs Sunday, December 11 (10:04-11:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network with an exclusive sneak peek of an all-new, all-original holiday special starring the whole Frozen cast of characters, including Olaf, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Sven. The currently untitled Frozen special will air Holiday 2017 on the ABC Television Network.

The special ventures behind the scenes for an exclusive look at the origins and evolution of the Academy Award-winning film Frozen. A breathtaking and fantastic saga, the special tells the real story of making a modern movie based on a timeless tale that nearly overnight became a cultural touchstone for legions of fans.

The Making of Frozen: A Return to Arendelle is produced by Lincoln Square Productions.
