Family gala presentation of the new Pixar feature set for June 24.
Disney-Pixar’s ‘Incredibles 2’ will be screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in advance of its July 13 U.K. opening.
EDINBURGH -- Edinburgh International Film Festival is set to go full-force into its opening weekend, with a family gala screening of Disney-Pixar’s highly-anticipated sequel, Incredibles 2, confirmed for June 24 at 2 p.m. at the Festival Theatre.
Tickets are available now through the EIFF website.
A school screening will take place June 25 at Filmhouse at 10 a.m. for local students.
The family gala builds on Disney’s longstanding relationship with EIFF, which has proudly hosted festival gala screenings of Disney-Pixar’s WALL•E, Toy Story 3, Inside Out and Finding Dory.
“The Incredibles won hearts the world over with its fun and exciting adventures and it’s an honor to be continuing our long-standing relationship with Disney and Pixar Animation Studios to deliver this special, superpowered sequel to our younger audiences and their families,” says Mark Adams, EIFF artistic director.
In Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack -- whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side.
Written and directed by Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille) and produced by John Walker (The Incredibles, Tomorrowland) and Nicole Grindle (Sanjay’s Super Team short, Toy Story 3 associate producer), Disney-Pixar’s Incredibles 2 arrives June 15 in theaters in the United States and July 13 in the United Kingdom.
