February is our annual motion-capture and stop-motion issue, and we have
plenty in store as usual. Sharon Schatz interviews Brian Nilles of leading
motion-capture technology firm, Vicon Motion Systems. Gregory Singer goes
behind the scenes on one of the many projects which uses Vicon's
technology, while Laura Schiff introduces us to Webbie Tookay, a new
motion-capture personality. On the stop-motion side of things, Wendy
Jackson covers Aardman Animations' current high flying times as they work
like mad on "Chicken Run" and bask in a four picture deal with DreamWorks.
We are also treated to an interview with Ray Harryhausen by Ruth and Roger
Whiter.
In other stories we remember Art Scott, a man who held significant
positions at a number of Hollywood studios from Disney to Bob Clampett
Productions. Jayanti Sen follows up with more information regarding the
current animation scene in India and we are treated to another lesson from
master artist Glenn Vilppu. Maureen Furniss returns from the holidays with
"Fresh From the Festivals" and Karl Cohen takes a closer look at those
Spike and Mike festivals. Plus, there's more!
