Film Club has been celebrating in the sunshine with a refreshing Chambord Royale cocktail, after the first airing of its new 10 second ad to support Chambord, the black raspberry liqueur. The ad beautifully evokes Parisian cocktail culture, shown through brushwork paintings in fashion illustration style, depicted in beautiful dark and light raspberry tones.

The ad was designed by Film Club director Sharon Pinsker, which she co-Directed with th1ng’s Shay Hamias, and was produced by Milana Karaica. Sharon’s elegant and romantic illustrations beautifully evoke the Parisian cocktail scene, panning around romantic images of couples in evening attire enjoying Chambord cocktails, and concludes with the Taste Desire tagline in voiceover. It builds on the success of the Chambord identity designed by Sharon last year to support the cult series Revenge on E4.

The ad was created during February and March 2013, in the style of an original ident which was commissioned by advertising agency Brave in December 2012. The client was seeking something sophisticated, to reach a discerning, stylish and aspirational audience, which incorporated fashion illustration brought to life, in order to support Chambord’s very first use of TV. Sharon’s elegant and understated painted illustration style which leans on her knowledge of fashion design met this brief perfectly.  Sharon is a true artist who paints every aspect in brush on paper to form her illustrations, which are then scanned and animated to create a fluid reveal of each detail and create the sequence.  The 15-second ident aired during every Revenge ad break throughout the whole series. It was so successful that the client confirmed a 10-second follow up ad, which aired on 2nd July.

Sue Loughlin, executive producer of Film Club says “We had a tight timeline, but luckily we knew instantly that Sharon was the perfect designer and director for the ident, and were able to move quickly. Her illustrations are delicate, beautiful, fluid and feminine, and you only have to look at the quality of the drawing to see that she understands and loves her subject matter. My role is almost that of matchmaker, and with Sharon and Chambord we created a perfect partnership.”

Sharon Pinsker studied fashion illustration at Parsons in New York after gaining a BA (Hons) degree in Fashion Design at St Martins School of Art. Her book Figure - How to draw & paint the figure with impact is a worldwide bestseller and has been translated into Chinese, French and Spanish. Her illustrations have attracted clients including Chanel, Pepsi and Adidas.  She became a Film Club director last year and the Chambord ident marked a very successful first job with the studio.
