Animatricks Animation Festival accepting submissions for the 2017 international short film competition now through January 31st.
Organizers for the Animatricks Animation Festival have issued a call for submissions to the 2017 edition of Finland’s only animation-focused film festival, running April 21-23 in Helsinki.
The New Finnish Animated Shorts Category is accompanied for the fourth time by the International Animated Shorts category. The winners will be awarded cash prizes. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2017.
All animated films and music videos completed after January 1, 2016 that have not been previously screened at Animatricks and do not exceed the length of 30 minutes are eligible. At least 70 percent of the duration of the film must be animation. Educational and commercial material is not eligible. The selected films will be screened in the International Shorts Competition Category and the New Finnish Animated Shorts Category. The Festival’s pre-qualification jury will select the films for the screenings.
Animatricks requires a handling fee of 10 € to be paid here before filling out the submission form. The deadline for submissions is January 31st, 2017. More detailed information and the online entry form can be found at www.animatricks.net/submission.
The Festival Jury will choose the most interesting film from the International and the Finnish category. The winner of the International category will be awarded 3,000 € and the winner of the Finnish category 1,000 €. The award is given to the director of the film.
Founded in 2000, Animatricks is the only Finnish film festival focusing on animation. The New Finnish Animated Shorts Award has been handed out since 2005. The festival is organized by the non-profit association Palikka ry. Animatricks Animation Festival presents annually an interesting selection of international animated film gems and showcases the newest Finnish animation. The festival serves as a forum for animators and a meeting place for everyone interested in animation.
