VARIETY reports Dwayne Johnson will play the title character in THE TOOTH FAIRY, about an ordinary man who must save the tooth fairy kingdom.
The 20th Century Fox comedy should begin filming in August from a Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel and Joshua Sternin & Jeffrey Ventimilia script.
Michael Lembeck (second and third THE SANTA CLAUSE installments) is directing.
Johnson's next two films are the Disney remake WITCH MOUNTAIN, set to begin filming in March, and will be seen in the Warner Bros. comedy GET SMART, with Steve Carell, this summer.
