George Nolfi (The Borne Ultimatum) will pen the script for Lucasfilm’s upcoming untitled Daisy Ridley Star Wars film, according to Variety. He will replace the previously announced writer Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), who had stepped in after the original screenwriters Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) and Justin Britt-Gibson (Counterpart) exited.
Kathleen Kennedy first announced the film in April 2023 at the Star Wars Celebration. Set 15 years after the last events of the Skywalker Saga, the story follows the rebuilding of the New Jedi Order and the powers that rise to tear it down. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) will direct.
While the project is far from production-ready, franchise fans can look forward to The Mandalorian & Grogu and another untitled film directed by Shawn Levy.
