GKIDS announces that they will present a special animation showcase featuring current, past and future GKIDS films from Wednesday, November 14 to Sunday, November 18 in Los Angeles.
New York, NY – GKIDS announced that they will present a special animation showcase featuring current, past and future GKIDS films from Wednesday, November 14 to Sunday, November 18 in Los Angeles. The GKIDS Animation Showcase will play at the Laemmle NoHo 7 and AMC Burbank 16 theaters in celebration of Burbank Animation Week and concurrent with the Creative Talent Network Animation Expo.
A total of nine films will be presented at the GKIDS Animation Showcase, including FROM UP ON POPPY HILL, THE PAINTING, THE RABBI’S CAT (3D), and ZARAFA, which are competing for the upcoming Best Animated Feature Oscar and Annie Awards. The showcase will also feature a sneak preview of A LETTER TO MOMO, which GKIDS plans to qualify for the 2013 awards season, as well as a SURPRISE FILM from a renowned animation producer that has never been screened in the US and has not yet been released in its home country. The title of the surprise film will not be announced until show time. Rounding out the lineup are past GKIDS Oscar nominees THE SECRET OF KELLS, A CAT IN PARIS and CHICO & RITA.
Cartoon Brew founder and animation historian Jerry Beck will be introducing the six new titles along with GKIDS principals Eric Beckman and Dave Jesteadt.
